Focus and Scope

Dear Colleagues,

EX-LIBRSIT International Journal of Ex-libris (IJE) welcomes the submission of manuscripts involving exlibris issues. EX-LIBRIST is a multidisciplinary journal published three issues annually by Istanbul Ex-libris Association, focusing attention on ex-libris. The journal has a double blind peer review process. 

We invite you to submit your manuscripts by being member of our journal from our web page (www.exlibrist.net) for publication in the next issue.

The authors are regularly informed about the process on their manuscript. The feedbacks from referees are received minimum 8 weeks of submission. After the acceptance, the paper is published in the following issue. Instruction for authors and other details are available in the website.

You may also send thesis studies relevant to the subject areas of EX-LIBRIST.

All EX-LIBRIST issues can be accessed online for free from our website.

EX-LIBRIST Uluslararası Ekslibris Dergisi sizleri ekslibris konusundaki araştırmalarınızı yayınlatmaya davet ediyor. EX-LIBRIST Uluslararası Ekslibris Dergisi, İstanbul Ekslibris Derneği tarafından ekslibris ve ilgili konular üzerine yılda üç defa yayınlanan çoklu-disiplinli uluslararası akademik bir dergidir.

EX-LIBRIST, iki kapalı hakem sürecine sahip olup ilk sayısını Mayıs 2014’te yayınlamıştır. Sıradaki sayıda basılmak üzere İngilizce ya da Türkçe makalelerinizi dergimiz web sitesine üye olarak gönderebilirsiniz.

Tüm yazarlar makalelerinin süreçleri ile ilgili düzenli olarak bilgilendirilirler. Hakemlerden geri dönüşler en az 8 hafta sürmektedir. Kabul alan makale, sıradaki sayıda basım sürecine girer. Yazarlara yönelik bilgilendirme ve diğer detaylara websitesinden erişilebilir.

Dergimize ilgili alanlara yönelik tez çalışmalarınızı da gönderebilirsiniz.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to the International Journal of Ex-libris are peer-reviewed according to the following procedure:

Initial review: The Editor-in-Chief evaluates each manuscript to determine if its topic and content is suitable for consideration by the International Journal of Ex-libris. Manuscripts that do not meet minimum criteria are returned to the authors within one week of receipt. This is in the best interest of the authors who could then decide to either correct the problems or to submit the manuscript to a more appropriate venue, avoiding delays from a lengthy review process that would nonetheless lead to rejection.

Peer review: Manuscripts that pass the initial review are assigned to an Associate Editor, who selects several referees based on their expertise in that particular field. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two referees under a double-blind peer review process, where both the referees and the authors are kept anonymous. Referees are asked to evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, soundness of methodology, impact to design research, and relevance to design practices. To facilitate timely publication, referees are asked to complete their reviews within one month. After collecting the referees' reports, the Associate Editor makes a recommendation on the acceptability of the manuscript to the Editor-in-Chief.

Recommendation: Based on the referees' comments and the Associate Editor's recommendation, the Editor-in-Chief makes a final decision on the acceptability of the manuscript and communicates to the authors the decision, along with referees' reports. The final decision can be "Accept Submission", "Revisions Required", "Resubmit for Review", "Resubmit Elsewhere", or "Decline Submission." A revised manuscript should be re-submitted within six months of the decision. It will usually be returned to the original referees for evaluation.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
