Cat Image in Ex-Libris Design

Abstract


Ex-libris is a personal art form that is located in the book lover’s library, inside the cover of the book that he chooses and reads fondly. While reflecting an image which gives importance to the book owner’s life, it also establishes a loyalty bond between the book and the owner. Many people who are book lovers have also been close friends with cats. Because they want to carry this friendship into the ex-libris which will take place in the books they love, the image of the cat is quite common in the art of ex-libris. In this study, the results of scanning approximately 290 ex-librises, including cat images at the Frederikshavn Digital Ex-libris
